Giroux Bros. Martial Arts
Transported After School Martial Arts (TASMA) Program

Dear Parents,
We all know that today’s family
structure and dynamic is not what it used to be and that the cost of living is
more expensive than ever. As a result parents need to work more and know that
their child(ren) are happy. Two
parent and single parent homes need to find a creative alternative to day care,
extended day and day care needs. Parents can choose to have their child(ren)
run around a playground or…
Why not put your child(ren) in a
program that will help to develop life long skills!
The Giroux Bros. Martial Arts
TASMA program will help parents address the need for care for their
child(ren), while the child(ren) will practice and benefit from the skills and
lessons learned through a martial arts program. Our shuttles will pick
your child up at his or her school and take them to the studio for classes.
Our program will offer exercise,
courtesy, respect, manners, discipline, self-defense and self-discipline as well
as the most important life skill of a “Yes I Can” positive mental attitude,
which will carry over into all aspects of life.
Here's what we think about the Giroux
Bros. after school program:
We have 2 boys, ages 6 and 10, that attend
the Giroux Bros. Martial Arts After School Program twice a week. It
has been the perfect fit for us on so many levels: When we moved to
Newton last summer we wanted to continue our sons in Martial Arts
classes and needed after school care for them. Giroux Bros has met
both those needs! The team of instructors have been caring, friendly
and professional, allowing us to feel that our boys are in good
hands from the minute they are picked from school until we pick them
up at the end of the day. This is a great developmental opportunity
for our children and we see them benefiting from it both physically
as well as mentally.

Deirdre and
Nolan are having an excellent experience as part of the TASMA
program. Nolan had been asking to study Karate for a while and I
didn't know how I was going to fit another after school activity
into the schedule and still have time for my job, their other after
school activities and plain old down time. Initially, I thought the
TASMA program would help me balance my kids desire to take karate
and my need to be more than their afternoon taxi driver. It has
actually become so much more than that. The kids absolutely love the
karate classes. They are setting goals and really excited about
meeting and exceeding them as they progress through the belts. The
program is also giving them plenty of physical activity which I
believe is so important especially during the winter months when I
am less inclined to supervise outside play. I have never had them in
any type of "aftercare" that lasted beyond 3pm. When they started
this program I thought I'd pick them up around 5ish but I quickly
found that they were not ready to leave. Now I know not to arrive
before 6 pm or they will question why they have to leave early. If
that isn't a testimony to a great program - I don't know what
is!
