Dear Friend,
You may be thinking "how can karate training really
benefit me?" You may also be thinking "karate is for kids, how
can a working professional like myself benefit from kicking and
punching?" Well, I'm here to tell you all the ways that our
program can benefit you in a positive way.
My name is Steve Giroux, Owner and Head Instructor of Giroux
Bros. Martial Arts in Newtonville, MA. For 17 years now, I
have been teaching adults like yourself the benefits martial arts
training can provide found only in karate. Martial Arts training is a great form of exercise. Unlike
stationary bikes, aerobics, and weight training, Karate offers you
an incentive to keep going. Classes are ongoing and focus on
strength and flexibility training, self-defense, and cardio-vascular
training. Our program will benefit you by helping you stay in
shape, feel better, and relieve stress. A major benefit about
a martial arts program vs. other fitness programs is that there is a
belt system built in giving you short term goals (based on 8 week
intervals). From my personal experience, I find that this is
sometimes the motivation one needs for making it to class on a
consistent basis.
Let's face it...life is always throwing us obstacles
and leading us in multiple directions day after day. Have you
ever found yourself excited about a new exercise program whether it
was joining a gym or taking a class at your local community centers
and then gotten distracted by a big project at work, problems at
home, or even going on vacation? How hard is it to get started
again once you've gotten out of your routine? I personally go
through this all the time. That's what's great about
karate and martial arts training. You have goals. Goals
are important. Sometimes just knowing that you are up for your
next belt test is enough to get you off the couch and into class
ultimately helping you stay consistent with an exercise program and
feeling better about yourself.
Have you ever found yourself:
-
Concerned about your level of
self-control?
-
Wishing you had time to do something
for yourself?
-
Not happy that your favorite jeans
now look like spandex?
-
Concerned about you Doctor's advice
from your last physical exam?
-
Frustrated that every time you try an
exercise program it doesn't last?
Well, you're not alone! Even though we want to be in shape
and do something good for ourselves it's tough to actually make it
happen!
Our adult
program is designed to help adults relieve stress from their
everyday lives by giving them a structured program allowing them to
set and achieve goals. Consistency to any program is the key
ingredient to achieving success. Determination and
perseverance are principles you will develop and strengthen through
our program that will carry on to your everyday life. How many
times have you:
-
Started a diet and stopped?
-
Began a new exercise program and then got side tracked
ultimately leading you to stop?
-
Joined a gym but became less and less motivated to do your
daily workout?
-
Tried to quit smoking?
So the real question is, how do you get yourself in a program
that will benefit you all of the time instead of just
some of the time. The good news is that we have a proven
program that will help you achieve your fitness goals, relieve
stress, and help you stay consistent with an exercise program.
All this will be accomplished while having a great time
and learning to defend yourself. Balance in life
is so important. Too many adults neglect this part of balance
in their life. I've seen countless adults improve their life
as a result of our program whether it was in work, social
situations, or at home. But don't take my word for it...
“I just really
love how disciplined it makes me feel! I thought that working
out at a gym and eating well was enough, but karate/martial arts has
made me feel as though I am in the best shape I’ve been in—both
physically as well as emotionally. It’s a wonderful confidence
booster”.
Dimitra Kyriakopoulos
Age 26,
Blue Belt
“I was unsure at first what my
thoughts/reactions would be for class when I first signed up. I knew
by my 3rd week that I wanted to continue, as I feel I am learning a
great deal, and enjoying practicing as I learn more and
more.”
Nick Connolly
Age 37, Purple
Belt
Now, you may be wondering why practicing karate does such a great
job in helping you achieve happiness in your life. Again, more
than any other sport the practice of karate gives you consistency in
your exercise program. Improvement in strength, flexibility,
endurance, and balance is just the beginning. Every class and workout session gets members one step closer
to being a Black Belt. Whether your goals are in competition,
gaining rank, teaching or overall physical fitness, our adult
program is the first step to making these ideas become a
reality.
